Williamsport, IN - Original Release: October 11, 2023

Over the past few months, citizens have rallied together to share their thoughts and concerns regarding the Wabash River water pipeline and carbon capture pipelines. Although there has been an uproar among citizens, the State of Indiana, Indiana Economic Development Corp (IEDC), and legislators have neglected to listen to our local communities. These projects demonstrate another attempt at government overreach by Indianapolis bureaucrats.
Just yesterday, the City of Attica passed a resolution to publicly stand against the Wabash River pipeline project. In addition, West Lafayette has also taken action to oppose the IEDC's LEAP project. Pulling 100 million gallons of water per day is dangerous and threatens our community's water resources. It is vital that additional research be conducted to ensure that our residents and community are safe before moving forward with either of these projects.
Our community should have been made aware of these projects prior to a vote being cast. It is the duty of our state representative to inform constituents of milestone legislation taking place, especially when it affects the heart of our district. State Rep. Sharon Negele failed to uphold her oath to serve our community when she failed to make citizens and local leaders aware of the Wabash River pipeline and carbon capture pipeline projects on day one.
In the Statehouse, I will not let the community be blindsided by any project, no matter the size. I will always ensure that local community leaders have a seat at the table when decisions are being made. Keeping your constituents informed and doing what is best for them is not a choice - it is our duty.
It's time for the people of District 13 to have a voice again, I ask for your vote to be that voice.
